Week 31 Rudolfo’s week
In week 31 we had another group from Switzerland visiting our lodge. Beat and Rudolfo from week 30 stayed and helped this next group as travel leaders. It was nice to have them at Kengis Bruk for two weeks. And we think Rudolfo agrees.
Beat welcomed the group for a good week in Kengis, but as you all know baltic salmon fishing can be a hard game and it was this week. We kept hearing updates from lower parts of the river that the fish was moving and biting, but not much happened at our water. Luckily for us the new group was also into grayling and pike fishing, so they had some action on other species than the famous baltic salmon.
Even though baltic salmon fishing requires all your focus, sometimes it is good to look up and have glimpse of the fantastic light you can see at Kengis. Rudolfo was the chef for the week and is there anything better han collecting food straight from the nature and serve to the new group.
When Rudolfo was not cooking he fished and in the last hours we saw some of the fish from downstream moving into our pools. Our last pool is named Erkkinskuoppa that means Eric’s pool in finnish, but the last two weeks it has been Rudolfo’s pool. In the last evening he landed two fish in the lower parts and ended his two weeks trip at Kengis bruk in the perfect way. Baltic salmon fishing can be very tricky and sometimes very simple.
Thank you so much for your stay and hope to see you back next year. Over and out from Beat & Rudolfo and eyes on week 32. It will be exciting to see when the fish stops and find the spawning places.
Tight lines!
