Week 35 Last week of the season
Last week of the season!
And what a season. In many ways special, but that we will save for the season recap blog coming soon. So keep an eye for that.
This week we welcomed our good Finnish friends Heidi, Sirly, Toni and Ossi.
It’s a week with many smiles, good food and more great memories to be made.
We all know that the fishing would be tough and we could not continue on the good vibes from the previous week, so no fish landed in the last days of the season. We did not see many fish and we tried all lines and flies, but it did not work.
Then it’s good to spend time with friends that understand that fishing is more than fishing. Crayfish party, proper finnish celebration, tent sauna and northern lights are some of the keywords from this last week.
It is starting to be a tradition to have mushroom risotto with wild birds from the forest and when Ossi and Toni could bring home birds from their hunt and knew what was on the menu. Then add a crayfish party and some songs you have the recipe for a great night.
Ahmed has his last days on his internship and what a pleasure to welcome such an open and smiley guy, just ready to learn about the business of running a Baltic salmon lodge in northern Sweden.
He had some “first” in this week with his first crayfish party, northern light and he helped Sirly into doing her first single spey cast.
We are happy to be a part of developing the future fishing guides and to send Ahmed back to Forshaga with many good experiences from Kengis Bruk.
Thank you for a fantastic week and see you again next year.
Tight Lines!
