Week 22 Season opening blog
When you take the first cast off the new season it is always with a special feeling. Will the big baltic salmon, that we dream about all winter, be there? We never know? This year everything was a little late at Kengis Bruk. So our first week did not go as we hoped, when we look at the fishing.
We did cast after cast, reeld in and got ready for the next round in the pool. We tried all different lines and flies in our boxes. Fished all our favorites, but the baltic salmon did not want to strike our flies.
We checked conditions, went to bed, got up early, put on the jacket for another round and spend the time at the river. We did not get what we hoped for, but it was good to be back at the river. Doing what we all wait for year after year. Swinging flies in the mighty Torne river at Kengis Bruk. We talked about old memories, laughed about old stories and shared tactics to get the first fish to strike our flies. And that is what we bring home from the first week. The company, good times around the fire and the beautiful nature.
