Week 28 2019
Junior program and salmon on land!
Week 28 at Kengis Bruk was mixed with different guests during the week. We started with Christofer from Sweden, he has never fished two handed rod before and not any fly fishing for salmon. He started out with a casting course and from that he turned in to a salmon fisher. To see him at the end of his trip, doing double spey, shooting line and thinking as a salmon fisher is simply just fantastic. He also experienced the hard part of the salmon fishing, with a lot of fish in the river, but no interest in our flies. But we got a new salmon fisher at Kengis Bruk!
Togehter with Christofer was Thomas. A danish guy living in the northern part of Sweden for the summer. He showed us how to do it and got the fish of this week. New rod and reel, so he got what he came for, a screaming reel!
Walle and Josefinn, two locals did spend some of their holiday at Kengis Bruk. They made a nice camp at Erkkinskouppa and managed to hook into to two fish, but both got away!
Junior Program!
Then we had a visit from our Finnish friends and our first junior. Jussi, Antti, Eeva and Remppu-Nalle. It's great to see young new fisher girls, that really is into the fishing and learning all about the salmon fishing. Eeva started with no experience from fly fishing, but managed to learn roll cast and double spey, with even shooting some line at the end of the trip. At the end of the trip she was fishing and not only casting. What a great experience for Eeva and all of us.
Together with Eeva, Antti and Jussi came Remppu-Nalle. The fishing mascot of our Finnish friends. He started the junior program and he will be back next year for the Junior program 2020.
