Week 30 & 31 2019
Week 30 - Costa Del Kengis
In week 30 we faced a really warm week. It felt more like Costa del Kengis than a salmon destination. With +20 in the water the fishing turned off. Despite of the warm water we still saw a lot fish moving and some in really good size. Fish jumping all around zone 1 made us dream for colder weather.
We had a visit from Denmark, with our friends Jonas and Jimmy fishing some days during the week. They tried everything but nothing worked out. They even tried the salmon dance.
In week 30 we also had a visit from Spain. “Focus on the fly media” traveled around Sweden looking for salmon destinations. Alvaro and Juan spent some warm days in Kengis taking some really good pictures. The fishing was still slow, but Juan got in contact with one of the big ones, but sadly he lost it. We wish for better luck next year!
Week 31 - Lost or landed? Hard work pays off.
In week 31 we had a visit from America. Andrew, Nancy, Karl and Erik were fishing in Norway but low water made them come to Kengis Bruk. They had some good days and the water temperature went down. Within the first hour of fishing Andrew hooked a really good size fish.
Andrew landed the fish, and what a Baltic beauty!
After landing this beauty they fished hard to get in contact with more fish and the day after Andrew lost another good sized fish just at the river bank. It really shows that hard work pays of!
They fished hard and got some contacts, but no fish on land! That is the name of salmon fishing sometimes.
