week 32 2019
Ready for the August fishing.
In week 32 we had a mixed week with different groups trying out the august fishing at Kengis Bruk. First we welcomed Marco and Werner. Marco is a guide from Outdoor ticket in Sorsele and he was very dedicated to learn about the salmon fishing. Werner was new to double hand fishing, so we spent time practice on the double spey and single spey cast. In the end of the trip he casted and fished very well.
Werner had his single hand rod with him and went grayling fishing, he worked hard and got rewarded. Such a beautiful fish.
Marco worked hard and cast after cast after cast and when the moral was going down he felt the power of the baltic salmon. He hooked into a good size fish and it just went downstream and he could not do anything. To see his eyes after that run was amazing. Now all the casting was forgotten and he new why we spent so many hours at the river to get in contact with these baltic salmon.
Lars tested the new 7X from Loop tackle, a crispy rod with a lot power! Lars couldn't wish for a better test, he hooked into a good size baltic august fish.
Together with us Thomas the Dane was fishing. He is a hard working fisherman and he had his chance when he hooked into a good august fish, but after a short fight it went away. Better luck next time!
Between the two groups we had some fishing time and had a visit from the Finnish fishing ministerium. We had a good talk with Teppo and there are some good plans and thoughts about the salmon fishing in the future. In the end we all care about the same thing, The baltic salmon.
Then we had a visit from Finland. Mika and Timo stopped by on their fishing trip in the northern part of Sweden. They fished hard and managed to hook a good august fish. They had a good celebration at the fire. The the salmon started to get picky and where only bumping into our flies, we had several pulls, but no one got hooked.
βIt's gonna be exciting to see how the rest of august is going. We cross our fingers for a good ending of the season!
