Week 27 - Will Oscar catch another Kengis Salmon?

This week we welcomed back good friends from the previous seasons.

Chance, Oscar, Valdemar and Jiho were back for another great week and then we welcomed Janne and Tommy to the lodge for the first time.

Tommy has been fishing Kengis north bank for a few years, so it was a pleasure seeing him on our lodge this year.

The week looked good and conditions were great, so we had high hopes for a week with many memories.

We could see that more fishing was rising in the river and hoped they would stop at Kengis.

Already the first day of fishing looked good and Jiho and Tommy got lucky and both landed fish.

Once again it was the fast running water that did the trick. Fast swinging flies did the trick.

Jiho landed a decent fish around 80cm and Tommy got in contact with one of the big ones.

Tommy landed a healthy 102cm big baltic salmon. What a way to start the week!

The following days we had action everyday and fishing was great, when we look at the overall season.

In a season like this it is very nice to experience that the fishing can be as we hope it will be in the future. Stable rising and stable fishing.

And what do you think? Did Oscar catch another fish at Kengis?

Of course!

To see father and son creating fishing memories together is something that we never get tired of. To give them a chance to do this with our junior program is worth a lot.

At the end of the week almost everyone landed baltic salmon or got in contact with them.

Fish from 70-102 cm With Emil and Tommy on the top with 91 and 102cm fish.

This week we had an intern from Kiruna fishing school. Ville was eager to come to Kengis and to welcome such a good guy is a pleasure. Here are Ville’s thoughts on his first week at Kengis;

“It’s a great pleasure to have the oppurtunity of an internship here at Kengis Bruk. To get to know the business, beats, and all the experienced anglers visiting.

It was a great first week, lots of silvery salmon showing and great people. Late nights and fishing stories by the fireplace”

Next week is good and we are looking forward to more memories made in northern Sweden.

Tight lines!
